Welcome
I know we’re biased, but swimming really is an amazing activity and life skill! One of very few sports that not only improves co-ordination, fitness, core muscle strength, higher brain function, discipline but could one day could save your life.
Our highly trained and qualified teachers are experts in recognising your child’s level of ability, and tailor activities to the individual. This is why our lessons are run in small groups with lots of space for the children to swim. Nurturing confidence and natural ability comes as second nature to our teachers. Our aim is for your children to thrive in the water - not to be restricted to a small swimming area with a large group of children - to learn respect for the water, and swim beautifully!
Our teachers are super friendly and enthusiastic, which makes even the most nervous new starter excited about swimming with us. We are very supportive to our parents and want to talk about your children’s needs and ways of making their time with us even more fun and productive.
We accept children from their 3rd birthday, however we are able to offer taster sessions to new starters to gauge wether they are ready to swim with us, as every child is different. For children under 3, we work closely with Aquatots who will also be happy to offer you a trial session.
Our oldest swimmers are 14 and are training with us to prepare for Club trials (4 Shires Swim Club). We have successfully placed numerous swimmers into clubs where they are now thoroughly enjoying their competitive swimming.
Our weekly lessons are 30 minutes, run term-time and match Gloucestershire School term dates. We also run intensive swim courses during Easter and Summer school holidays. We also offer one-to-one or sibling lessons if you feel that this would benefit your child initially, before entering into group sessions. If you have a pool of your own we are happy to come to you during school holidays for lessons or fun sessions!
Once a term we teach the children personal survival techniques in the pool. We ask the children to come to lessons in their pyjamas to get them accustomed to swimming with wet clothes, no aids and no goggles in preparation for worst case scenarios.
